The recession has significantly changed the face of public catering in shopping centers. During a time when big players had frozen their development programs, the sites became occupied by local catering operators. Now, when the critical phase of the recession is over, the competition has become extremely tough. The experts hope the development of this segment will continue with the re-conception of unsuccessful shopping centers, primarily at the district level.

They want to manufacture products in Russia once again. Over the idle years the old industrial base disintegrated and now a wide field of activity has opened up for developers. Manufacturers need walls, industrial parks, separate plants, as well buildings constructed from scratch in open fields as well as redevelopment of old industrial sites. We should not overestimate this new market, but it is undeniable that the new segment of commercial real estate is forming here and now.

Rebranding is coming into fashion. Retailers were the first to start talking about the need to update brands. Recently, CRE has learned that in anticipation of market growth, more than 20 companies working in the real estate market, have decided to clean up and update their "signage."
